The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 declared plainly that they were not attached to this earth but were looking for a better country, a heavenly one. Where is my focus? Am I, like Lot, too attached to the things of this earth to speak the truth that needs to be said? The cross is the answer for an earth-focused life. It stands between God and the earthly pursuits of this world.
