The righteousness that we received at salvation is imputed righteousness, which is a right standing before God. However, it is more than that. It is also an imparted righteousness, which is right living. This flows out of our right standing with the Lord. God gives us a new heart, and the power to live a righteous life. You cannot separate imputed and imparted righteousness.
