“Rejoice” can mean to brighten up; show gladness; to shout for joy; cheerful; calmly happy; to congratulate; and to spin around. These synonyms elaborate David’s choice to will to be glad and rejoice in God. The law of first fruits expected rejoicing before the Lord. Paul reminds all believers to “rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice.”
